Kids Portable DVD Players - Yeeha!

I was thinking what it would be like if I were still a kid and had a portable dvd player for the car or minivan. All those long boring trips out to see the relatives would have been awesome...I don't dad would have heard the comment "Are we there yet?"...300 times on a six hour drive.
So do I think it's a good thing to get a portable dvd player for kids while travelling....YAH....can I say that again...YAH.
I've got friends that think portable dvd players for kids....stiffles their minds. There may be a small bit of truth in that, but there's also a thing I like to keep on trips...my sanity. Having four kids of my own means...I like to have a means of entertaining the kids when nothing else will do.
Should you get a portable dvd player for you kids? My opinion...not a bad thing to have. I don't think kids should be expected to watch a dvd for every minute their in a vehicle...but it sure is a nice "quiet" way to help get them through a long trip.
Portable players are great...but hey, if you think it'll stiffle your kids mind, that's your choice...but keeping your sanity ain't a bad idea.
