Portable DVD Players VS Laptops

This has been a great debate for some....should I buy a portable dvd player or run out a spend a few more dollars a get an all purpose laptop?

I think that there are some good arguements for both sides. Portable DVD Players are definitely cheaper to buy...BIG PLUS. But a laptop with the right features can play your movies, plus give you all the added functions of a computer.

Do you use a computer lots now? If no, then why would you run out a spend a bunch of money on a laptop, when a portable player can be had for a fifth of the cost.

If you're a big business person that travels lots and needs to get work done on the move, having a laptop that plays dvd's would sure be a nice feature. Plus you wouldn't have to pack around another bag with a portable dvd player in it.

For me, I don't really need the laptop, portable dvd player is just right. Why?
Well it's mainly to keep my kids entertained in the van...so, it comes down to bucks. It's way cheaper for a portable dvd player than to spend my money on a laptop.

Who knows maybe I'll turn into some on the go business guy that needs a laptop, but for now, I'm really happy with a portable dvd player.
