The world of new portable dvd players is changing rapidly, just like computers. New portable dvd players are coming down in price, while becoming more better products. The screen clarity is improving with time, better sounnd from small speakers, new portables are compatible with most types of files out there.
Old portable or used portables tend to be a little bulkier (is that a wordrd?) ...screen clarity isn't as good if you're sitting off to the side, etc...etc...
Prices have come down a lot...now-a-days you can pick up a decent new portable dvd player for under $200 US...which is a big difference from two years ago when most portables on the market started at about $400.
